Program Manager, Key Accounts (Sacramento)

Job Summary

Conduct customer site visits, waste audits, and handle bid work for government and third-party accounts across northern CA, Reno, NV, and the WM area office. Manage highly transactional accounts by resolving unique issues, executing retention plans to increase revenue, and proposing compliant solutions. Update service agreements and leverage sales productivity software tools to match services with customer needs while demonstrating knowledge of pricing and competition. Establish and maintain high customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and effective communication. This hybrid role involves territory-wide travel with day and overnight trips, supported by a competitive base pay range of $84,700 to $90,000 plus a 15% annual target bonus.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience
  • Two (2) years of relationship management experience in environmental, waste or related service industry (in addition to education requirement)
  • Must live and work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to conduct customer site visits the majority of the week
  • Must be able to travel territory wide throughout northern CA and Reno, NV
  • Must be able to work from the WM area office in Sacramento
  • Must be able to perform day travel with intermittent overnight travel
  • Must be able to handle bid work
  • Must be able to conduct site visits, waste audits, and address safety concerns
  • Must be able to manage highly transactional accounts
  • Must be able to establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Must be able to communicate to and work to resolve unique customer issues
  • Must be able to increase revenue and profitability by executing sound plans on retention calls
  • Must be able to match WM services with customer needs by demonstrating knowledge of customers, pricing and competition
  • Must be able to effectively communicate pricing and service strategies
  • Must be able to proactively engage other WM business opportunities
  • Must be able to propose customer solutions that are compliant with appropriate local, state and federal regulations
  • Must be able to update and secure customer service agreements
  • Must be able to effectively use WM sales productivity software tools (i.e. Prospect and Customer Database, Proposal Program, Pricing Tools, etc.)

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior administrative experience
