Job Summary
Program Manager for a federally funded geospatial IT program supporting GEO/DITD, delivering application development, technology, and program management services for the U.S. Census Bureau geospatial systems. Responsible for establishing program goals and governance, directing contract execution including financial management and staffing, monitoring performance against schedules and SLAs, managing risks and changes, overseeing required deliverables and documentation, supporting readiness reviews and transitions, and ensuring technical requirements are met across GEO programs. Interfaces with senior leadership, stakeholders, and clients to drive program execution and decision-making. Requires extensive experience managing complex technology programs in the geospatial domain and strong leadership across large teams and budgets.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience providing technical and management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments
- Experience establishing goals and plans that meet project objectives
- Experience directing and controlling activities with responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing
- Experience with client negotiations and interfacing with senior management
- Experience making decisions impacting overall project implementation
- Experience within the geospatial industry
- Experience supervising teams and supporting large-scale programs
- Strong program and project management leadership skills
- Expert-level domain knowledge in the geospatial industry
- Experience using Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling tools
- Experience using office automation tools including Outlook/OWA, Word, Excel, and Visio
- Experience working with documentation repositories such as SharePoint
