Job Summary
Disaster Program Manager position within the American Red Cross for the Lakeport, CA region. Leads volunteer teams across disaster cycle services (mass care, response, community preparedness, recovery, planning, readiness), develops partnerships with community organizations, and coordinates volunteer-led activities to prepare communities for disasters. The role includes deploying to disaster relief operations outside the region at least once annually, supporting mission-driven operations, and ensuring readiness resources, facilities, supplies, and local vendors are aligned with program needs. Requires Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of 5 years of related experience, plus a valid driver’s license. Salary is $70,304 for California, with comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and related experience required
- Minimum 5 years of related experience with building, mobilizing, leading and developing volunteer teams to execute a social services program or service
- A Valid Driver’s License and a clean MVR
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills to interpret program trends, results, formulate recommendations, and develop creative processes for continuous program or service improvements
- Proven record of collaboration with diverse groups and individuals representative of all demographics of this community, managing multiple priorities, facilitation, problem solving, marketing, leadership, and partnership management
- Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to work outside of regular duty hours including nights and weekends
