Job Summary
Manage day-to-day operations of the BH7A Neurobehavior Unit, directing professional and support staff to ensure assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care. Develop and implement plans to meet Children's Hospital goals while overseeing expense and capital budgets for the department. Create departmental policies and procedures, coordinate staff representation on task forces and committees, and lead quality improvement and safety initiatives. As applicable, develop workflows for new openings, conduct staff competency drills, and support clinical research projects. Requires a Master's degree, current licensure, and three years of clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Hospital Administration, Business Administration, or closely related field, or completion within three years
- Current licensure relevant to professional discipline
- Three years of clinical experience and demonstrated competence in area of expertise
- Supervisory skills to plan, assign, and evaluate the work of subordinate staff
- Analytical skills to oversee and organize the work of others, and to develop and administer sound policies, procedures, budgets, and multidisciplinary practices
- High level of initiative, self-direction, and accountability for actions
- Exceptional customer service, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal relationship skills for interaction with contacts
- Strong knowledge of quality improvement methodology, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Skill in promoting multidisciplinary collaboration; ability to act as a facilitator and change agent
- Strong organizational skills to evaluate existing policies/procedures/standards, and to develop and implement enhancements and/or new systems
