Job Summary
Program Manager 3 at Los Alamos facility responsible for leading and managing a technical/operational portfolio, including defining program work scope, schedules, budgets, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; managing change control and risk; fostering internal and external customer relationships; coordinating with subcontractors and internal maintenance groups; and communicating with stakeholders to meet customer needs and funding requirements. Requires advanced knowledge of the technical/operational discipline and regulatory/Laboratory requirements, plus the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic planning across multi-year programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related management experience
- Advanced knowledge of program management, including defining scope, schedules, budgets, baselines, cost reporting, change control, and risk management
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and Laboratory requirements related to programmatic work
- Experience building internal and external customer relationships and communicating with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to develop working relationships across internal/external organizations and to adapt to evolving policies and opportunities
- Ability to manage portfolios that may span multiple years and budgets
- Experience coordinating with customers, researchers or research groups, or programs to determine work scope and funding requirements
- Experience with capital projects and integration of subcontractors and internal teams
- Bachelor's degree plus 8 years or equivalent combination of education and experience
