Job Summary
Lead a group of 20-25 students in an in-person classroom setting, implementing the Think Together four core agreements to maintain safety and high behavioral standards. Serve as a positive adult role model through appropriate dress, speech, and attitude while creating an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging. Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment, and physical activity using provided curriculum, and assist daily with snack preparation, serving, and clean-up. Support students in making positive behavior choices, take disciplinary measures when appropriate, and maintain safety by taking roll and reviewing sign-in/sign-outs. Identify student needs and communicate with the Site Program Manager, teachers, administration, and parents. Participate in staff development and assist in set-up, break-down, and ongoing maintenance to keep the site clean and orderly.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- District-specific - 48 semester/60 quarter units and/or pass a pre-employment test
- Ability to speak and write Standard English appropriate in a public-school setting
- Must pass Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)
- Provide negative TB Test dated within the last 3 years
- At least six months experience working with a group of 10 or more students in a classroom, afterschool, or recreation environment
- Advanced Math and English skills (K–8)
- Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)
- Support our English-learner population by being bi-literate
