Job Summary
Coordinate daily supervision and care for youth ages 5-12 in after school programs, maintaining a safe environment during field trips and excursions. Facilitate activities including arts, science, and dramatic play while managing classroom routines, snacks, and playground supervision. Collaborate with staff to plan programs and communicate regularly with supervisors, teammates, and families, ensuring all safety regulations and confidentiality protocols are followed. Report suspected child abuse to authorities and utilize positive behavior reinforcement techniques to guide children. This part-time role operates from 2:15/2:30pm to 6:00pm during school days and 6:45am to 6:00pm during extended breaks at Devinny and Hutchinson Elementary locations. Candidates must have at least 460 hours of childcare experience and pass background checks.
Required Qualifications
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- Minimum 460 hours of documented experience working with children
- Knowledge, understanding, and application of positive classroom management skills, positive reinforcement and child redirection
- Ability to obtain all trainings required to work in a licensed childcare environment (such as CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter Training, Playground Safety, Injury Prevention and Medication Administration, as well as 15 hours of annual training provided by employer)
- Pass TRAILS and CBI/FBI fingerprint background checks for working in licensed childcare
- Must be able to push, pull or balance
- Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/move a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted
- Lift/move a maximum of 200 pounds with assistance
