Job Summary
Program Instructor at the Laporte County Family YMCA delivers high-quality, engaging classes and experiences, plans, delivers and instructs program(s), fosters a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment, and communicates effectively with participants and parents/guardians. Responsibilities include conducting scheduled classes, preparing and setting up equipment, following YMCA policies, reporting incidents, attending trainings, and exemplifying YMCA core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty. The role emphasizes teamwork, mission advancement, collaboration, and operational effectiveness to provide a positive, growth-oriented member experience.
Required Qualifications
- Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions.
- Experience in specific program area is preferred.
- Minimum age requirement is 16 years.
- Must possess strong human relations skills and ability to communicate with participants and staff.
- Ability to lead a group while maintaining control and structure.
- Completion of additional trainings and certifications as required by the position or the organization.
- Required trainings: Within 30 days of hire: Child Abuse Prevention (West Bend online).
- Within 30 days of hire: Blood Borne Pathogens (West Bend online).
- Within 60 days of hire: CPR and First Aid
- Within 90 days of hire: Listen First and Y Welcome
