Job Summary
The Financial Analyst supports the fiscal health of behavioral health programs by preparing funder invoices, analyzing cost and production data, and ensuring contract and audit compliance. Serves as a liaison between Finance, Program Operations, and external funders. Responsibilities include analyzing cost and production data, communicating results to Program Managers and VPs, developing and tracking budgets to ensure contract compliance, preparing adjusting journal entries, creating data collection templates, producing monthly contract reimbursement claims, supporting fiscal audits and providing timely responses, and coordinating with contract monitors and funding agency personnel. Requires experience with GAAP, Netsuite (or similar AIS), advanced Excel, and familiarity with grant-funded programs; HIPAA compliance is expected. The role emphasizes independent work and collaboration within a team, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of financial analysis and/or accounting experience
- Experience with GAAP and financial statement analysis
- Experience with Accounting Information Systems, preferably Netsuite
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (lookup, pivot tables, macros)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of Revenue Cycle Management
- Familiarity with government or grant-funded programs (e.g., Medi-Cal, MHSA, HUD) preferred
