Job Summary
Program Director responsible for leading the ARC/STSA-CAAHEP accredited Surgical Technology AS program, overseeing accreditation compliance, curriculum development, faculty supervision, clinical partnerships, and student success. Role includes strategic program administration, online/hybrid delivery oversight, teaching at least one course per semester, managing resources and equipment, coordinating accreditation reports and site visits, developing policies, recruiting and mentoring faculty, fostering a collaborative learning environment, and engaging with clinical partners, while ensuring student outcomes, retention, and credential attainment align with NBSTSA certification requirements. Requires an earned bachelor’s degree in a related field, CST credential, and 3–5 years of clinical surgical technology experience plus 2+ years of teaching experience; strong leadership, organizational, and communication capabilities; willingness to travel for clinical partnerships and occasional evening/weekend commitments; hybrid/remote work options available.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Surgical Technology, Health Sciences, or a related field
- Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA (or equivalent credential as required by accrediting body)
- Minimum of 3–5 years of recent clinical experience in surgical technology
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching or instructional experience, preferably in an accredited surgical technology program
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
