Job Summary

Provide clinical coordination and oversight for designated police departments, collaborating with officers, clinicians, and community providers to divert individuals with mental health issues from the criminal justice system into appropriate services. Supervise Jail Diversion Program staff by establishing performance standards, organizing monthly group supervisions, and overseeing scheduling to ensure adequate coverage across all supporting police departments. Conduct investigations of complaints or incidents as assigned and complete required reports. Participate in the administrator on-call rotation and assist individuals in following up with mental health providers, community supports, and dual diagnosis services. Develop and maintain partnerships with mental health organizations, hospitals, local resources, and natural support groups to facilitate access to treatment. Requires a master's degree, clinical license, four years of forensic mental health experience, and a valid Massachusetts driver's license. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm with an annual salary of $85,000–$90,000.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters' Degree in a related field
  • corresponding clinical license
  • at least four (4) years of experience working within the criminal justice system
  • experience working with individuals with mental illness with forensic involvement
  • valid Massachusetts driver's license
  • maintain a personally owned vehicle

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven ability to develop community connections with other providers, stakeholders, police departments and family members
  • Ability to develop individualized interventions and plans for individuals with emotional, mental health and/or substance abuse issues who are in crisis and/or involved with the criminal justice system
  • Knowledge of interventions and evidence based treatment related to jail diversion and mental health
