Job Summary
Oversee shelter/program operations and supervise personnel to ensure safe, compliant, and effective services. Manage fiscal performance, liaise with DHS and funding sources, maintain regulatory and contract compliance, and guide community relations. Lead client services delivery, supervise department heads (Social Services Director, Client Care Supervisor, Security Supervisor, Childcare Supervisor, Intake Specialist, Maintenance Facility Manager), provide staff training and development, and drive quality assurance initiatives. Requires leadership of programs for homeless populations, deep knowledge of NYC behavioral health resources, and a Master’s degree or higher in a related field with related licensure. Strong communication, data reporting, and operational planning skills are essential, as is ability to travel as needed and to adapt to community-based shelter environments.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Non-profit Operations Nursing, Public Health, Public Policy, or a related field with a related License
- Minimum 7-10 years’ successful experience in services to homeless people, clinical social work with medically frail, mentally ill, or at-risk populations, or senior-level shelter administration
- Strong leadership, budgeting, and fundraising experience
- Experience with MICA (Mental illness and chemical abuse)
