Job Summary
Program Director for an on-site licensed Adult Day Program in Signal Hill, CA, overseeing daily operations, staffing, payroll, budgeting, and regulatory compliance for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The role leads Direct Support Professionals on the floor, implements person-centered service plans and behavior support strategies, ensures Title 17/Title 22 compliance, maintains documentation and quality assurance, partners with Regional Center and families, develops engaging activities to promote independence and community integration, and provides hands-on leadership during behavioral situations. Requires substantial operational leadership, floor presence, staff development, and ability to manage workflows and compliance in a facility-based program; includes building a culture of accountability and ensuring high-quality, compliant day services. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a human services field (preferred), 3+ years in a human services delivery system, 1 year in supervisory/management/director roles, 2+ years with IPP/behavior plans and staff supervision, experience with licensing/regulatory bodies, and a valid driver’s license; lifting up to 50 pounds and TB/physician clearances are required. The role is a full-time exempt position with strong opportunities for growth and development, and an emphasis on hands-on leadership from the floor, coaching staff, and ensuring safe, person-centered services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field (e.g., Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Allied Health, Educational Psychology, Sociology, Human Services) is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a human services delivery system
- 1 year in a supervisory, management, or director role in a human services delivery system
- At least 2 years of experience or training in one of the following: Care and supervision of individuals in a adult day program or residential facility/home; Care and supervision of individuals similar to those served in this day program; Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured or facility-based setting
- Experience working with Regional Centers, Community Care Licensing, and knowledge of Title 17 and Title 22 regulations
- Experience developing and implementing individual program plans (IPP), behavior plans, or structured skill-building programs
- Experience with staff supervision, coaching, and performance management
- Experience in a facility-based program environment with multiple staff and individuals served
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Must be able to lift and transfer up to 50 pounds
- Physician’s clearance and TB test clearance
