Job Summary
The Program Director leads the health center programs portfolio, guiding strategy and ensuring alignment with HRSA/BPHC requirements. Responsibilities include supervising Project Managers and program staff, planning and evaluating community health programs, driving quality improvement and performance measurement, coordinating with senior leadership, and cultivating partnerships with community organizations. The role emphasizes translating strategy into actionable plans, managing program data and reporting, and ensuring culturally competent, patient-centered services. Required education is a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with minimum five years of program management experience and two years of supervisory experience; a Master's degree and related certifications are preferred. The position requires ability to travel to health center sites and to work flexible hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in program management, healthcare administration, or a related field
- minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience overseeing project managers or program staff
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or related field
- License / Certification: PMP; CCHW; or equivalent professional certification in public health or healthcare management
- Proficiency with HRSA grant management and UDS reporting
- Experience with Federal Health Center Program compliance
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Ability to supervise, coach, and develop a team
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to analyze program data and drive quality improvement
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Experience with confidential information handling
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel between health center sites
- Must have reliable transportation
