Job Summary
Manage aquatics activities, supervise staff and volunteers, and conduct daily pool operations to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Recruit, train, and schedule personnel while delivering hands-on instruction as a swim coach, lifeguard, and water fitness instructor. Grow group swim lessons, private lessons, and master swim programs by maintaining 4,600 annual participants and increasing specific program growth targets. Maintain accurate chemical records, control department budgets, and schedule facilities. Assist in marketing and lead fundraising initiatives while modeling core values. Requires valid Texas driver's license, lifeguard certifications, and experience in program supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business management, a related field
- Five or more years of experience in supervising or directing programs as a program and/or center director
- YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader Certification
- Adaptable, flexible, and enjoys variety in your work environment including periodic weekends and non-business hour workdays
- Serve as a leader in the Annual Giving campaign and other fundraising initiatives
- Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility; implement character development and the YMCA core values in all programs and all aspects of Center operations
- Must possess a valid Texas Drivers' License and valid insurance
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor or YMCA Lifeguard Instructor certifications
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer or YMCA Lifeguard Trainer
- Must pass reference checks, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender registry check
