Job Summary
Manage the Anesthesiologist Assistant program by conducting classroom instruction, developing curriculum, and overseeing student registration and advisement. Select, train, and lead regular and adjunct faculty while building the Program Advisory Council and maintaining community and campus relations. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and accrediting standards by submitting required documentation, monitoring graduation and licensure rates, and coordinating accreditation activities. Collaborate with the Department Chair and campus leadership on scheduling, faculty sharing, and fiscal wellbeing to support enrollment growth and strategic completion goals.
Required Qualifications
- graduate degree in education, administration, medicine, or the medical basic sciences
- minimum of two years successful performance in a full-time university-level teaching role
- prior management experience in higher education or in another organization within the program director's discipline
- requisite knowledge and skills to administer the classroom/academic aspects of the program
- requisite knowledge and skills to administer the operation of the overall program
- ability to read, understand, interpret and implement accreditation criteria and state agency regulations
- ability to resolve inquiries and complaints from employees, students, regulatory agencies, or members of the academic or business community
- ability to effectively present information to faculty, academic and campus leaders, corporate leaders, and public groups
- experience with computerized administrative systems
- proficiency with the use of standard office applications on personal computers
- Anesthesiologist Assistant certified by the NCCAA or its successor
- ability to travel out of the local area with an occasional overnight stay to participate in a variety of conferences and meetings
- regularly required to talk or hear
- frequently required to stand and walk
- occasionally required to lift up to 10 pounds
- ability to adjust focus and close vision
