Job Summary
Lead the COMPASS afterschool program at PS306 by providing overall leadership, supervising staff and volunteers, and developing age-appropriate activities. Manage program scheduling, conduct performance evaluations, and facilitate weekly staff meetings while ensuring site safety and cleanliness. Coordinate enrollment, liaise with school principals and DOE staff, and build community partnerships for referrals to mental health and family support services. Provide daily crisis intervention, complete required documentation and statistical reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Monitor the program budget and facilitate mandatory training for supervisees.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Child Development or New York State Children's Program Administrator Credential
- School-Age Child Care Credential
- Two years of college with 18 credits in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation, or Related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in youth development programs and supervision
- Ability to engage in crisis intervention activities
- Ability to demonstrate, lead, and teach a range of group activities
- Availability for weekend training requirements
- Commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective
