Job Summary
Develop the annual programming strategy and execute hands-on, design-based STEAM learning programs across science labs and the gallery floor. Manage the program development team through skill development, mentorship, and project assignments while collaborating on seasonal events and exhibit tie-ins. Conduct needs assessments to evaluate emerging trends and implement metrics to measure program impact. Act as Manager on Duty as scheduled and participate in staff meetings outside normal hours. This role reports to the Senior Director, Interactive Learning Programs and supports The Tech's mission to inspire innovators in families and young people.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering, Physical Science, or Education
- 2-5 years experience developing and designing hands-on, interactive STEM programs or experiences geared towards diverse youth audiences
- 2-5 year experience in engaging with and communicating technical/scientific topics to diverse groups with varying levels of exposure to and knowledge of the subject
- Flexibility to adapt in a constantly changing environment and when working with a constantly changing audience
- Frequently move objects up to 50 pounds
- Availability will vary based on The Tech's operating schedule, including weekends, nights, and offsite events
Desired Qualifications
- Strong ability to evaluate and coach staff, management experience is a plus
