Job Summary
Supervise a group of children in a School Age setting while planning and implementing culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with YMCA core values. Greet parents and staff daily, ensure safety procedures for medical and disciplinary situations are followed, and maintain general housekeeping duties. Assist in preparing creative learning centers, participate in annual fundraising, and attend staff meetings and trainings. Adhere to dress code, punctuality, and electronics policies. Requires CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications within 30 days of hire. Salary is $13.50/hour.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- High school graduate or equivalent
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications
- Child Abuse Prevention training
- Ability to plan, lead and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings
- Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting
Desired Qualifications
- one year or more of college
- Previous experience working with children preferably in a School Age setting
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: outdoor living, archery, boating, camping, songs/music, skits, sports, aquatics, recreational games, etc...
- Previous experience with diverse populations
