Job Summary

Curate, plan, and coordinate events for the Global Voices Performing Arts and Lecture Series, Graduate Commons Program, and alumni engagement activities. Staff programs onsite, manage event-day logistics, and handle administrative tasks including website maintenance, social media strategy, newsletter production, and contract management. Contribute to problem-solving for unforeseen issues, ensure compliance with university policies, and compile data for program evaluation. Assist with internship applications and serve as an advocate for International House within the UChicago community. Requires evening and weekend availability; salary range $50,000–$55,000.

  • Bachelor's degree with a preferred focus on global issues
  • Three years of experience in higher education
  • Three years of experience in another non-profit setting
  • Three years of experience in an administrative position
  • Three years of experience working with special events
  • Three years of experience working with student activities
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly the internal workings of the University
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly technology tools including MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Mailchimp, and Eventbrite
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • able to work on and prioritize multiple projects
