Job Summary
Schedule planning, staffing ratio maintenance, and leave review for Direct Support Professionals. Conduct daily case note documentation, complete house inspections, and facilitate weekly meetings. Manage consumer finances, track medical appointments, and coordinate activities for individuals with disabilities. Provide individualized orientation to new staff, mentor team members, and ensure adherence to policies through training feedback. Respond to emergencies during and after hours, including weekend and holiday coverage when applicable. Travel by car across the Tri-County area to individual houses and sites.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Associate Degree in human services or related field
- Two years of progressively responsible experience working with people with developmental and intellectual disabilities
- Combination of education and experience equivalent to the two-year requirement
- Personable
- Energetic
- Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Knowledge of community resources available
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Customer service-oriented
- Computer skills (familiar with Microsoft Office applications)
- Good command of the English language both oral and written
- Valid driving license with a good driving record
- Access to a safe vehicle
- Ability to pass the criminal background check mandated by the State of Maryland
- Willingness to work anywhere within the Tri-County area (Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's counties) as needed
- Ability to work where needed within the Tri-County area
- Ability to respond to emergencies during and after hours, on weekends, and holidays
- Ability to travel by car
- Ability to spend a great deal of time in individual houses/sites
