Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee administrative operations within the patient safety program for the Health Care Quality department. Responsibilities include inputting and validating data in the patient safety database, reviewing previously reported incidents, assigning cases to appropriate team members, handling outgoing patient correspondence, and supporting program operations. Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), creating and maintaining databases, preparing regular and ad hoc reports, coordinating calendars and travel arrangements, ensuring compliance with BIDMC policies and external regulations, and contributing to quality improvement projects. Works closely with patient relations team, nurses, and social workers to support patient safety objectives, with duties including data compilation, reporting, and administrative training to staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Associates degree preferred
- 1-3 years of related work experience required
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access)
- May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases
- Competencies: Written Communications, Oral Communications, Knowledge, Team Work, Customer Service
- Ability to communicate clearly in written English with internal and external customers
- Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers
