Job Summary
Support NSLI-Y and Virtual NSLI-Y administration by responding to applicant and participant inquiries, tracking outreach strategies, and assisting with recruitment, selection, and placement. Manage program databases, coordinate application materials and deliverables, and organize travel logistics for orientations, events, and alumni activities. Create promotional assets, reports, and social media content while maintaining high-volume communication standards. Perform data entry, coordinate program materials, and handle administrative duties as assigned. Report to the NSLI-Y Senior Program Officer and Director for Administration. This role requires occasional work outside regular hours and hybrid attendance at the Washington, DC office.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in one of NSLI-Y target languages, international affairs, education, or related field
- At least 1 year of full-time professional experience in education, student advising, international education, study abroad, virtual/cultural exchange, or in public service capacity
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle high volumes of communication effectively and professionally
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
- Ability to exercise problem-solving skills, good judgment, and discretion in handling sensitive information and participant issues
- Ability to approach challenges with flexibility, creativity, and a positive attitude
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Must comply with American Councils' hybrid work requirements and must report to the Washington, DC office at least two days a week
Desired Qualifications
- Personal experience with study abroad, language study, language teaching, and/or second language acquisition especially in NSLI-Y, Virtual NSLI-Y, or a similar USG exchange program
- Professional experience in customer service capacities
- Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, WordPress, social media platforms, and Canva
