Job Summary
Program Coordinator II for the Kirk Veterans Shelter in Santa Clara County is an exempt, full-time onsite role with a swing shift (Saturday–Wednesday 3pm–11pm). The role provides supervision of shelter monitors and onsite staff, oversees tracking and evaluation of program goals aligned with VA contracts, supports staff in handling client crises and incident reporting, offers coaching and disciplinary guidance, ensures funding and program deliverables are met, and coordinates administrative meetings. The position requires driving shelter guests to appointments when needed, strong communication and organizational skills, experience in human services or related fields, and knowledge of behavioral health approaches (including psychosocial rehabilitation, harm reduction, and motivational interviewing). The successful candidate will demonstrate cultural humility, collaboration with diverse populations, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile devices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of professional experience in the human services, social work, or related field and demonstrated experience working collaboratively with low-income families
- 1 year of direct experience in the provision and supervision of services to individuals who are homeless and/or have extremely low incomes
- Must have a valid California Driver’s License with current insurance and clean DMV record
- Flexibility to drive shelter guests to appointments in personal vehicle
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
