Job Summary
Program Coordinator for the Beacon Community Center will assist in developing, implementing, and supervising programming for elementary and middle school youth; responsibilities include supervision, data entry, participant enrollment, recruitment to meet targets, staff supervision, and facilitating youth activities. The role requires partnering with the Department of Education and local community organizations, maintaining attendance and records in the DYCD system, coordinating schedules and trips, developing educational materials and workshops, and submitting required reports. The position emphasizes creating a safe, engaging environment, promoting growth and leadership in youth, and ensuring programs meet goals and timelines. Strong organizational, public-speaking, writing, and teamwork skills are essential, as is experience with DYCD programming regulations and online systems. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Preferred or at least 3 years youth experience
- Knowledge of working with inner city youth
- High level of proficiency in administrative work
- Ability to set up and maintain work environment that challenges gender stereotypes and is LGBTQIA+ friendly
- Must obtain NYC Dept. of Health fingerprint clearance and SCR clearance
- Must have NYS Food Handler’s Certificate
- Must be CPR and Advanced First Aid Certified
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
