Job Summary
Write curriculum and lesson plans focusing on global content, then coordinate and co-facilitate interactive workshops for academic enrichment programs. Collaborate with staff and youth to generate new program ideas, develop content on global issues and 21st-century skills, and support social and emotional learning. Implement the annual Global Kids Youth Conference, manage student outreach and retention strategies, and assist partner schools with logistics including space, security, and permits. Collect project data, maintain case files, and handle fiscal procedures such as fund requests and expense reports. This role requires a Bachelor's degree, experience with interactive learning strategies, and availability Monday through Friday from 2 pm to 6 pm. The position offers a part-time non-exempt salary range of $22-$27 per hour, along with vacation, personal, and sick time.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Strong understanding of a wide array of NYC social service resources for youth and families
- Experience using interactive, experiential learning strategies, counseling and conflict resolution skills, and youth development/leadership strategies with middle school and/or high school age youth
- Experience and enthusiasm for designing and leading educational workshops that build on each other
- Commitment to and understanding of working in culturally diverse settings and using antiracist pedagogical practices
- Experience working in or closely with NYC public schools
- Knowledge of and passion for global issues, political science, history, education, social justice, and human rights
- Excellent facilitation, consensus-building, and interpersonal skills
- Strong work ethic, initiative, creativity, willingness to learn, and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Strong communication, writing, administrative, organizational, and technology skills (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Zoom)
- Must be available to work in person, from Mondays to Fridays, 2 pm to 6 pm
