Job Summary

Program Coordinator/Administrative Assistant for three departments (Natural Sciences, Math/CS, Social Sciences) coordinating on-site support with dual-location duties in Hartung Hall and Decker Hall. Manages student employee payroll for ~30 staff, supervises assignments, maintains inventory, supports accreditation/site visits and department events, prepares budget-related documents and reports, handles printing and lab book materials, schedules visits and recruitment events, coordinates room reservations, and provides general administrative support to faculty and the Dean. Requires undergraduate degree (preferred) and strong MS Office skills (Excel with advanced capabilities, Word, PowerPoint). Must have excellent writing/communication skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to learn new software quickly. Availability includes part-time hours with on-site work during academic terms and some remote hours during the summer; position is located in Anderson, IN with two department locations (Hartung Hall and Decker Hall). The role emphasizes collaboration across three departments, student-employee management, event coordination, and administrative support for multiple faculty and programs, including AU Scholars Day and Model Diplomacy, among others.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree is preferred
  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint along with an advanced understanding of Excel
  • Ability to learn new software quickly
  • Proficient in keyboarding and proofreading
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Ability to compose correspondence using appropriate English
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work as a team player
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to take initiative
