Job Summary
The role coordinates and delivers pro-social activities and programs for Illuminate program clients, including overseeing mental health, addictions, and life & living skills programming, supervising staff and volunteers, developing administrative frameworks for program delivery, and fostering community partnerships. Responsibilities include community outreach, client assessment and referrals, maintaining case management systems and program materials, coordinating trainings and practicum supervision, facilitating survivor-focused sessions, and ensuring safety, OH&S compliance, and policy adherence. The position involves facilitating and expanding digital programming, coordinating resources, and providing accompaniment for participants to activities and events, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed, equity-focused practices and collaboration with partners across Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of two academic years in Social Service or another related field
- Current Certification in First Aid/CPR
- Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or MANDT
- Completion of WHMIS training
- Certification in FOODSAFE Level 1 or willingness to be trained
- Mental Health First Aid Certification or willingness to be trained
- Current Naloxone Training or willingness to be trained
- Valid Class Five BC Driver’s License and clear abstract
- At least two (2) years of experience working in program facilitation
- At least one (1) year experience working with survivors of exploitation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Internet Navigation and General Computer Skills
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practices in working with marginalized and exploited populations
