Job Summary
Oversee and manage the UPO/YSD elementary out-of-school time program for youth in grades kindergarten through fifth, in accordance with stated outcomes and youth development principles. Duties include day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring provision of materials and supplies for classroom, participants, and vendors; coordinating parent workshops; supervising staff; serving as principal contact for site operations, external partners, and families; coordinating daily homework help, tutoring with external partners, and enrichment activities (STEAM and SEL); developing supplemental program activities including quarterly field trips, afternoon clubs, and at least one civic engagement event per year; collaborating with division director, program manager, external funders, and stakeholders to achieve program goals; developing recruitment/retention strategies to meet enrollment/participation goals; maintaining participant files, enrollment forms, eligibility documentation, report cards, and communications with families; maintaining daily attendance; implementing program safety standards; timely data uploads for monthly/quarterly/annual reporting; operating 15-passenger vans for participant transport; attending advisory council and community meetings; supervising site staff and volunteers and conducting performance evaluations; ensuring orientation for new hires; and completing pre-employment background checks and screenings as applicable.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in teacher education, human services, sociology, psychology, or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience working with youth in a school setting.
