Job Summary
Develop, coordinate, and implement fitness programs and events to maximize member participation and engagement. Manage program delivery, oversee staff training and certification, and provide individual and group exercise instruction while assisting with lifeguarding and facility coverage. Coordinate marketing efforts, gather outcome data, and contribute to business planning and budgeting for designated program areas. Full-time, 40-hour week with varied shifts including Monday–Thursday 4:30 AM–6:00 PM and Friday 4:30 AM–2:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Exercise Science, Recreation, Kinesiology or related discipline
- 1+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience
- OSHA compliant Adult/First Aid/CPR/AED from American Red Cross, American Heart Association, National Safety Council, or American Safety & Health Institute
- NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an Industry recognized and HealthFitness approved agency
- Industry recognized Group Exercise Instructor certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including at minimum Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity
- Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test
Desired Qualifications
- NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an Industry recognized and HealthFitness approved agency required; if not current will be required within 60 days of hire
- Industry recognized Group Exercise Instructor certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA strongly preferred; will be required within 90 days of hire
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification required within 90 days of hire
- Demonstrated experience in leading, coordinating and delivering effective programs including budgeting, marketing, and promotions
- Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others
