Job Summary
Design, implement, and monitor skill promotion and behaviour intervention programs using a comprehensive behavioural approach. Develop, implement, and supervise training of mediators in behaviour management principles, while facilitating evaluation of ongoing education for community agencies and parents. Provide clinical assessment and treatment recommendations through individual or group sessions. Requires valid Ontario driver's license, vehicle, and ability to travel throughout York Region and/or Simcoe County, including potential work at satellite offices or mobile units. Fluency in French is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree in Psychology
- Valid Ontario driver's license
- Vehicle
- Ability to travel throughout York Region and/or Simcoe County
- Current clinical experience
- Knowledge of behaviour therapy as it applies to the areas of developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of positive sexuality
- Knowledge of other special populations (e.g. brain injury, dual diagnosis including the full range of sexually inappropriate behaviour)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Proven attendance record
- Understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job
- Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others
- Demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health's Commitment to Caring
