Job Summary
Program Associate for the Power Pathway supports grantmaking, research, cross-team collaboration, and communications to advance SFF’s racial equity and economic inclusion goals. The role partners with the Sr. Director of the Power Pathway, Program Officers, and CI staff to develop and implement equity-focused strategies, engage with community-based organizations and stakeholders, and coordinate grant applications, site visits, convenings, and donor engagement. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or higher degree (or equivalent experience), at least three years in public/nonprofit work, strong project-management and communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to racial equity and community empowerment. The position emphasizes relationship-building with grantees, donors, and partners, and requires ability to manage multiple projects, facilitate meetings/events, and apply an equity framework across initiatives. The Foundation supports a long-term hybrid in-person/remote work arrangement in the Bay Area.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of three years relevant experience in public or non-profit sectors
- Experience advancing racial equity and economic inclusion with a focus on organizing and power building
- Experience applying a racial or economic equity frame in work environments
- Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
- Project management skills with ability to multi-task, set priorities, track projects, and meet deadlines
- Ability to build long-term working relationships and collaborate across teams
- Experience coordinating with grantees, donors, nonprofit partners, and public sector allies
- Experience conducting issues research, engagement and advocacy especially on regional issues in the Bay Area
- Familiarity with data-analysis in decision-making
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams), Salesforce, Zoom
- Experience planning meetings and facilitating events from start to finish
- Ability to learn and navigate online platforms (Fluxx, Qlik Sense, Smartsheet)
- Commitment to social justice and equity
- Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus
