Job Summary
Conduct fitness evaluations, provide equipment orientations, and suggest safe exercises for members while assisting with proper form and technique. Ensure all fitness equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and in good working condition, maintaining a functional and sanitary environment throughout the branch. Enforce fitness area policies and procedures, attend departmental meetings, and assist with facility tours and special events. Arrive at 4:45 am to complete opening duties and report work time via the approved kiosk or time sheet. Requires current CPR certification, high school diploma, and exercise science knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Current state approved CPR certification
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience/knowledge in exercise science/physiology
- Excellent personal and organizational skills
- Have a willingness and ability to provide good customer service to all members
- Learn and understand YMCA history, mission and philosophy
- Relevant YMCA certifications
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions
- Ability to perceive, identify and respond to signs of distress
- Specific visual abilities include close, distant, peripheral and depth
- Accepts and demonstrates the Ys values
- Demonstrates a desire to serve others and fulfill community needs
- Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions
