Job Summary
Support the development of AI-enabled tools and knowledge management systems to improve research processes while conducting in-depth research on environmental and climate-related topics to inform philanthropic investments. Prepare research summaries, briefing materials, and strategic documents for internal and external stakeholders, and take notes during meetings to coordinate follow-up actions. Maintain grant management systems and internal documentation, ensuring accurate records and reporting, and prepare grant recommendation materials for leadership review. Serve as a point of contact for routine communications with nonprofit partners and internal stakeholders, and reconcile grant information to support regular financial and portfolio reporting. Coordinate recurring team meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and action-item tracking, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve operational processes. This role balances analytical work with hands-on execution within a lean, collaborative team focused on accelerating meaningful environmental progress through strategic philanthropy and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Educational focus or job experience in environmental studies, sustainability, climate or a related field
- Demonstrated understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts, with the ability to translate technological capabilities into practical business applications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other productivity software
- Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proactive, intellectually curious, and comfortable working independently within a small team
- High level of discretion and professionalism, with experience handling confidential information
- This position is based in New York City
- follows a flexible hybrid work model that combines in-office and remote work
- Occasional domestic travel may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Educational focus or job experience in environmental studies, sustainability, climate or a related field preferred
- Experience with grant management platforms, CRM systems, or similar operational tools is preferred
