Job Summary
Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data while assisting with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and housekeeping. Provide personal care and supervision to support life growth, teaching daily living and functional skills to help individuals achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive settings. Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings, resolving problem behavior situations using approved crisis techniques and adhering to safety standards. Complete required paperwork, maintain effective communication with residents and family members, and provide safe transportation. This 3rd shift role (Thurs-Sat, 11p-9a) is for a Direct Support Professional at Bancroft, a leading service provider for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License in the candidates' legal name and current address
- One year minimum driving experience
- License should be in good standing and free of restrictions
- Minimum of six months related work experience OR Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a degree program in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Must be available for 3rd shift: Thurs. - Sat. 11p- 9a
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Aspiration to work with autistic, intellectually and developmentally challenged individuals
- Prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
