Job Summary
Support young adults aged 17–35 with disability and neurodivergence by facilitating learning through structured group sessions, social meetups, and independence getaways. Lead small-group and mentoring activities focused on travel training, digital skills, and goal-setting to help participants build employment, independence, and community connection. Work onsite at the Alexandria hub between 9am and 3pm, with flexibility for evening and weekend social activities. This role is part-time, available for 2 to 4 days per week during Terms 3 & 4 and beyond.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with people with disability in an education, support, or youth development setting
- Confidence supporting small groups or individuals in learning and achieving goals
- Strong communication, organisation and digital skills, with ability to support participants to learn these skills
- A calm, empathetic, proactive approach and a genuine belief in inclusion and self-determination and strengths-focus
- A flexible, adaptable, can-do approach to work and building rapport with participants and facilitators, and invested in the growth of participants
- A Working with Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one
- Availability to work onsite at a Co-Hive Hub during program hours, as well as after hours independence and social activities from time to time
- Availability to work onsite at a Co-Hive hub to support programs and participants between 9am and 3pm
- Availability needed from time to time on evenings and/or weekends to lead Social Meet-Ups
- Part time availability for 2 to 4 days (Monday and Tuesday or Wednesday and Thursday) for Terms 3 & 4 and beyond
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational or tertiary qualifications in Disability, Individual Support, or Education Support and/or any of our program areas
