Program Assistant/HHA Adult Day

Job Summary

Conduct daily recreational activities, assist with Activities of Daily Living, and take vital signs for program participants. Create and implement daily programs including art projects, exercise groups, and outings while transporting members to local events and shopping excursions. Maintain the Adult Day Center through daily upkeep and perform additional tasks as needed. Work three days per week from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm with no evenings, weekends, or holidays. Prior caregiving experience and a valid MN Driver's License are preferred. Join a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering fullness of life for older adults in a nurturing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid MN Driver's License
  • Must be CPR and First Aide Certified or willing to be trained
  • Must be available for three days per week (Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)
  • Must be available for 7:30 am to 3:30 pm hours
  • Must be able to assist members with personal needs
  • Must be able to pass medications
  • Must be able to help with the daily upkeep of the center
  • Must be able to transport participants
  • Must be able to assist with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living)
  • Must be able to take vital signs
  • Must be able to perform daily charting
  • Must be able to assist with daily recreational and leisure activities
  • Must be able to assist in creating and implementing daily programs/activities
  • Must be able to go on group outings
  • Must be able to attend local events
  • Must be able to assist with art projects
  • Must be able to lead exercise groups
  • Must be able to facilitate trivia games
  • Must be able to lead small group discussions
  • Must be able to lead musical programs
  • Must be able to work with mature adults
  • Must have good critical thinking skills
  • Must have exceptional customer service skills
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to effectively lead and manage the team's quarterly review cycle

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior caregiving experience (HHA, PCA, CNA) preferred, but not required
  • Activity planning or related skills
  • A desire to work with elderly adults
  • Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to effectively lead and manage the team's quarterly review cycle
