Job Summary

Coordinate program activities and special events for the Older Adult Services Department, including holiday celebrations, health fairs, and day trips. Manage participant registration, collect fees, and distribute materials while greeting guests and providing orientation. Assist with volunteer recruitment and orientation, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports and supply inventories. Support facility maintenance, set up audiovisual equipment, and monitor onsite and offsite programs for safety. Respond to participant inquiries and coordinate with vendors and administrative staff. Work flexible hours including nights and weekends to meet program demands.

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • An associate's degree
  • A minimum of three years of related experience or training with the planning, organizing and implantation of programs
  • Experience with older adults
  • A strong commitment to public service
  • CPR and AED certification
  • A foundational understanding of the principles of program development, event planning, and logistics
  • A comprehensive awareness of the physical, emotional, and social needs of older adults
  • Familiarity with community services and resources available to older adults
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers, including word processing, database management, and spreadsheet applications
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • The ability to operate various office tools and equipment
  • The ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to keep accurate records, including data entry and the maintenance of filing systems
  • The capacity to work effectively with diverse populations
  • The ability to assist with room setup
  • The ability to learn to operate audio/visual equipment
  • The ability to track supply inventories
  • The ability to handle and have access to confidential information
  • The ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Flexible work hours
  • The ability to work some night and weekend hours
