Job Summary
Support the Vice President and Child Care & Income Security team with scheduling, meeting facilitation, and conference logistics including space reservations, catering coordination, and note-taking. Prepare, format, and distribute correspondence while arranging travel, processing expense reports, and managing contracts. Coordinate information sharing across teams, post and format website content on WordPress, and assist with legislative communications and outreach. Conduct background research, fact-check, and material preparation for child care and income security policy initiatives. This full-time, non-exempt role requires 37.5 hours per week based in Washington, D.C., with eligibility for some telework.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Initiative in seeking clarification on assignments
- A demonstrated ability to prioritize workloads, stay organized, follow established processes, and appropriately escalate issues when needed
- Flexibility, good judgment and the ability to handle multiple, concurrent tasks in an effective manner
- Strong computer skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including experience scheduling meetings in Outlook and managing spreadsheets in Excel
- A demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- A commitment to and interest in the work of the Center, including child care, income supports, and advocacy
- Experience in an administrative capacity for a senior executive, preferably at a non-profit organization or related field
- A college degree or at least two years' college
- Experience with InDesign and WordPress
- Demonstrated experience and judgement working both collaboratively and independently
- Must be able to work in person on a regular basis
- Must live in or relocate to the DMV (broadly defined as DC, Maryland, or Virginia)
