Job Summary
Program Aide for the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets to support farm products staff in daily tasks including processing inspection requests, data entry in Access/Excel/QuickBooks, p-card reconciliation, and preparing weekly deposit memos and monthly financial reports for USDA. Responsibilities also include maintaining statewide certificate accountability, generating account aging details, and handling applications for the Controlled Atmosphere program (permits/licenses, data entry, and document transmission). This is a permanent, full-time, office-based role located at 10B Airline Drive, Albany, NY, with telecommuting opportunities under the agency’s Telecommuting Program Guidelines. Required Qualifications
- Open-competitive NY HELPS qualifications or qualifications listed on the most recent examination for the Program Aide title
- Three years of experience performing clerical, keyboarding, or paraprofessional work in an office environment (open-competitive qualifications) or equivalent
- Direct-line lower-level promotion title eligibility as applicable
- Demonstrated ability to perform clerical tasks using Access, Excel, and QuickBooks
- Ability to prepare financial reports and manage deposits and billing processes
