Job Summary
Program Aide Medication provides hands-on personal care and supports safe medication administration to older adults in a nonprofit senior/supportive housing setting. Responsibilities include administering or assisting with self-administration of routine medications, following medication rights and infection control practices, observing and reporting changes in resident condition, assisting with eating and feeding, escorting residents to appointments, visiting residents in hospital, helping residents participate in recreational activities, and completing service notes and care documentation accurately. Requires strong communication skills, ability to follow care plans, and basic computer/mobile documentation skills; CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtainable within a specified timeframe; bilingual skills are a plus based on resident needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Minimum 2 years' experience providing care and/or medication assistance to older adults or individuals with disabilities preferred
