Job Summary
Oversee shelter operations during Wednesday through Sunday shifts from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, maintaining a safe and secure environment while ensuring rounds occur every 15 minutes. Be alert to surroundings, check logs for prior shift information, and treat each guest with dignity and respect while maintaining confidentiality. Report problems and rule infractions to the Program Director through written logs, immediately reporting emergencies to supervisors. Engage clients by addressing their needs and participate in regular staff meetings and training. Ensure compliance with program, department, and funder requirements, and maintain appropriate logs and files for each shift.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years sobriety
- CPR and First Aid Certified
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of low income
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to respond in crisis situations
- Basic computer skills to maintain training as assigned
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs
- A successful background check
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of substance abuse and mental illness preferred
