Job Summary

Conduct administrative services and program support for Addictions and/or HIV/AIDS services within a multidisciplinary community health team. Act as a receptionist to schedule and confirm client appointments, create and maintain client records, and process methadone applications. Manage client laboratory reports, perform word processing and transcription, and arrange meetings to take minutes. Maintain inventory of program supplies, operate office equipment, and orient new team members to administrative policies. Compile statistics, assist with research projects, and engage in ongoing team planning and quality improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Grade 12 supplemented with an approved Medical Office Assistant/Secretarial program and three (3) years' recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in relevant software, including word processing, spreadsheet, graphic and database software application
  • Ability to work with marginalized people struggling with severe illnesses and chemical dependency
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
  • Ability to analyze, problem solve and take initiative
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes
  • Ability to perform relevant calculations
  • Ability to compile information
  • Ability to operate related equipment
  • Business writing skills
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check
