Job Summary
Prepare journal entries for revenue, expenses, accruals, and allocations; process payment requests for reimbursements, petty cash, and purchases by verifying supporting documentation. Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy for external auditors and funding sources. Compile monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year-end cost reports, audit schedules, and actual vs. budgeted performance reports for assigned programs. Develop rolling cash budgets and fiscal year-end projections to support agency-wide budget preparation and Board reporting. Implement accounting policies and procedures while assisting the Financial Manager with ad hoc financial analysis.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of two (2) years of accounting experience in the accounting department of a for-profit or nonprofit organization
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Proficient in accounting and spreadsheet applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain cooperative and professional working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and the public
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of MIP Fund Accounting software
