Job Summary
Prognostic Engineer needed to develop data-driven prognostics that improve vehicle uptime and support smarter maintenance decisions. You will work with diagnostic signals, traces, and vehicle data to understand how systems degrade over time, identify trends, and define what should be predicted, for whom, and over what horizon. Translate complex technical needs into analytical requirements to shape solutions that forecast remaining useful life and enable tailored preventive maintenance. Collaborate with data scientists, software developers, component experts, and service engineers to validate outputs, assess business value, and turn insights into practical digital products and service tools for dealers, technicians, fleet managers, and operators. Contribute to data structuring, storage, and usage to ensure deployable, cross-functional product development. Join the Technology & Service Development team focused on maximizing uptime through data-driven maintenance solutions. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, engineering judgment, and customer impact in a mission-driven environment. Location: Gothenburg, Sweden; occasional travel. Required Qualifications
- An MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in engineering or applied analytics role
- Solid understanding of vehicle systems/technologies, diagnostics, and how system degradations show up in data
- Ability to read, interpret, and challenge analytical outputs
- Experience working in cross-functional, agile product development environments
- Knowledge in OBD/CAN data, ECU log analysis and telematics data architecture
