Job Summary

Manage the day-to-day administration of a portfolio of prestigious international scientific awards, overseeing nomination and peer review processes, coordination with expert juries, and engagement with award recipients. Work with senior leadership to establish relationships with judges, nominating institutions, and partners while facilitating honoree selection and moderate scientific sessions. Prepare multimedia materials explaining complex research impacts and develop programming for symposia and award ceremonies. Track honoree milestones, promote achievements through social media, and manage compliance and reporting requirements. Collaborate across departments to identify engagement opportunities and evaluate award processes for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD required in an appropriate subject area of life sciences, chemical sciences, or physical sciences & engineering
  • Professional experience outside of academic research
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Experience, ability, and comfort in dealing with complex scientific information beyond own area of expertise
  • Ability to work with multiple teams across departments and to manage multiple parallel projects with tight deadlines
  • This role requires some Domestic & International travel (5%) within the U.S., India, and/or Europe
  • The Program Manager is expected to attend all jury meetings, award ceremonies, symposia, and other events as needed for all programs in this Awards program portfolio
  • This position is primarily sedentary and performed in a professional office environment
  • The role routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, and video conferencing technology
  • Employees are regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods
  • occasional walking, bending, or lifting of light items (up to 10 pounds) may be required

Desired Qualifications

  • Post-doctoral or related experience in academia, government, or industrial research
  • science publishing a plus
  • Experience with grant writing and program management a plus
  • Experience in global academic ecosystems outside of US a plus
