Job Summary
Part-time professional writing tutor for SUNY Ulster's Literacy Lab to work one-on-one with students, bridging gaps in comprehension and writing. Responsibilities include conducting tutoring sessions outside of class weekly, communicating with instructors and providing progress updates, guiding students through course material with study strategies to promote independent learning, using SUNY Ulster email for communication, submitting daily logs and time sheets, following departmental policies, performing additional tutorial services as required, maintaining ethical and professional conduct with students and staff, and ensuring FERPA compliance. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Banner and Dynamic Forms.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of experience teaching or tutoring English, preferably at the post-secondary level
- Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Education, or Linguistics
- Strong written and oral English language skills
