Job Summary
Provide comprehensive writing and learning strategy support to a diverse student population across all disciplines and academic levels. Assist students in identifying strengths to establish goals, while guiding graduate students toward a professional written voice. Facilitate workshops, presentations, and classroom visits, collaborating with Success Advisors and participating in outreach activities. Maintain accurate tutoring notes and progress using university software, working in person and through online platforms. Assist in maintaining tutoring materials and evaluating services. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Writing or Humanities
- Must sit, walk or stand
- Some repetitive motion may be required
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with tutoring via on-line delivery/distance learning strongly preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence; experience working with underrepresented students and students from at-risk backgrounds
- Experience and understanding of current issues and developments in higher education
- Outstanding verbal, writing, and presentation skills; must be able to communicate and interact effectively with Mount Mary students, employees, and alumnae
- Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize projects
