Job Summary
Transport raw materials over land to and from municipalities to facility sites while planning routes and meeting schedules. Inspect vehicles daily for mechanical items and safety issues, perform preventative maintenance, and maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations, report defects, accidents, or violations, and handle unexpected situations like traffic or weather. Operate newer automatic Mack trucks with assigned equipment, utilizing GPS, AVL units, and CB radios. This local and regional driving position includes occasional overnight travel with provided accommodations and bonuses.
Required Qualifications
- A valid Class A CDL
- Clean driving record
- Valid MVR
- Valid CSA records
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
- Willing to submit to background/drug checks
- Willing to provide employment recommendations
- Willing to travel for project work
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver License
