Job Summary
Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) responsible for technical performance on small projects or designated tasks on large projects. Perform complex survey/geomatics calculations and analysis for preparing survey maps, plats and right of way mapping. Compile and research existing data, coordinate project estimates and schedules, analyze deeds and title reports, and write/review legal descriptions. Coordinate with Project Manager on FDOT and Public projects, ensure QC before survey products advance, mentor survey analysts and technicians, and deliver client-ready surveys and reports using FDOT procedures and software (MicroStation, GeoPak, FDOT SS4, Civil 3D, Star*Net, Leica Geo Office, Cyclone, TopoDOT, CAiCE). Strong client service, communication, and time-management skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Registration as a Professional Surveyor and Mapper in the State of Florida, in accordance with Chapter 472, Florida Statutes
- Active Florida PSM license
- Three years of CAD experience
- 1-3 years FDOT Location Surveying and RW Mapping experience
- Proficient with MicroStation, GeoPak, FDOT SS4, and Civil 3D CADD software
- Experience with survey specific software such as Star*Net, Leica Geo Office, Cyclone, TopoDOT, CAiCE
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities
- Familiar with engineering design and construction practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Post-secondary training in CAD programs is a plus
- General experience dealing directly with clients and managing projects is a plus
- Proven experience providing excellent customer service and meeting project schedules
